My photo
I'm a twenty-nine year old Army wife currently living near a large Army post. I have an unhealthy obsession with Dr. Pepper, the Internet, cloth diapers, and ridiculous TV shows. I'm a stay at home mom to two beautiful daughters, AJ and Amelia. We also have a 6 year old beagle named Abby who is as dumb as a box of rocks.

Cutest Baby on the Block!

After our first trip to the park with AJ, D decided that she needed sunglasses to go along with her sun hat. We went to Babies 'R' Us and bought her first pair of sunglasses. Here she is wearing them right before we went to the park yesterday with the dog. It turned out that she didn't need them as the clouds rolled in and it started raining, but she is a pretty cute model if I do say so myself.

Grandpa and AJ Hanging Out!

We got a Flip Video recorder from Leslie and Bill a few weeks ago (THANK YOU!), so while Grandpa G was here this weekend we took some video of him and AJ hanging out and getting to know each other! Warning: This is one of the cutest videos ever recorded!

They had tons of fun together and Grandpa was sad to leave yesterday afternoon! Luckily, we're heading East in about a month to go to a friend's wedding and Grandpa, Aunt Debie and Uncle Jack are coming to watch her for the weekend! They'll get some quality time with her and we will be able to enjoy ourselves at the wedding and reception without having to worry about the baby the whole time!

This is a video I took yesterday of the most beautiful baby in the world! She was just chilling in her bouncy seat while I folded laundry. She was being so cute, I had to capture it on video!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend to tide you all over until the next post!

Sleeping while Daddy files her fingernails! Everyone knows how relaxing the spa is!
BTW, can you tell how tightly she has him wrapped around that little finger?!

Snoozin' with Grandpa G!

Being cute in her swing!

Until next time...

Great Weekend!

We ended up not going to the consignment sale on Friday. After we met D for lunch we were both tired and since we had to pick Grandpa G up at the airport later that afternoon I decided to skip it. We did make a trip to Babies 'R' Us yesterday and got AJ some super cute outfits and a bottle sterilizer. Some of the clothes we got for AJ are so cute!

Today D and Grandpa G made pasta sauce and manicotti for dinner. We also had some guests stop by to see the baby! Grandpa's friend Leslie's mom and aunt, Fran and Jan, came to visit, socialize and eat with us. We had a fun time chatting and hanging out and AJ was a very well-behaved girl the whole time they were here!

Grandpa G Comes to Visit!

AJ will get to meet her Grandpa G for the first time tonight! D's dad is coming to visit for the weekend and spend some time with the little lady! We don't have anything big or exciting planned, but I know that for him, just seeing and meeting her is big and exciting! I'm hoping that she semi-behaves while he is here, but if not, I know he'll understand!

The last few days and (especially) evenings she has been really fussy and almost inconsolable. She has also been spitting up a lot every time she eats. I feel so bad for her because it seems to bother her when she spits up. I'm just hoping that she doesn't have reflux. She has a doctor's appointment on Monday though, so if she does have reflux we can hopefully get an antacid or something from the pediatrician while we're there on Monday.

Right now though, we're off to meet D for a Teriyaki lunch and then possibly heading to a huge baby and children's consignment sale at the fair grounds. We don't have anything specific we're looking for, so maybe we will find something that catches our eye! I'll post pictures if we end up bringing anything home!

Our Little Fashion-ista!

AJ got all dressed up yesterday since we had one of D's friends over for dinner last night! She decided that her new jean skirt would be the perfect thing to wear. She was right, all of D's friends so far have remarked about how cute she is and I think the jean skirt just put her over the top last night! Here are some pictures of her photo shoot from yesterday afternoon!

Here is another picture from last night that is quickly becoming one of my favorites. I just think she looks so cute and like such a big girl in it!

And finally...the daily attempt at capturing the smile....

Woo Hoo!

I am terrible about posting on a regular basis, so its bizarre that I'm posting 2 times in one day, but I realized that I'm a terrible wifey (not really) and forgot to post our big news when it happened last week! So, here it goes!

On Friday D found out that he got selected to branch transfer to Civil Affairs. June 1, we are officially a Special Operations Family and not just a "regular" Army family anymore! I am so proud of him (even though I knew he was going to get selected). This is the news we have been waiting for, as it determines basically the rest of his career in the Army (or not, dependent on whether or not he was selected).

Now it is time to "hurry up and wait" yet again for the Army to issue orders for the Career Course this summer. We're hoping that he will get a slot at either the MP or Engineers Course at Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri! If that happens, we will only be about 6 hours away from both our families! That would be so awesome for the family to be able to see AJ more often and for her to get to know them as well!

To some of you, 6 hours may not seem like it is that close, but for a lot of military families (us especially, considering our current situation), 6 hours is a quick drive! Considering that we currently live a short 5 hour plane ride from our families, a 6 hour drive seems like next door!

I'm so excited for this next chapter in our lives and can't wait to get started on it! Oh, did I mention that I continue to be super proud of my hubby? 'Cuz I am! ;)

Steve Urkel and Elvis Presley

Recently AJ has been wearing some of the new clothes she has gotten as gifts. In most of them she tends to look like Steve Urkel. The reason for this: She is quite tall and none of her Newborn sized onesies are long enough for her. However, she is fairly skinny, so while all her 3m clothes are the right length, they're all pretty baggy on her. The pants, on the other hand, are not only long, but baggy as well. We end up pulling her pants up to her armpits like you see in the photo above.

In my never-ending quest to capture the elusive smile, I managed to snap a picture of a little-known Elvis Presley impersonator! This one was taken on Saturday afternoon while Daddy was out doing gun-related things with his friends, so I sent it to him via text message. It was much appreciated!

Trying to Capture the Smile!

Whenever AJ smiles I try so hard to get it on camera, but somehow, everytime I have the camera out and am ready she smiles and it vanishes as soon as the camera clicks! These are two of the best ones I could get this week so far. Such a pretty girl!
I especially love the double chin in this one!

Time Flies!

So they say, time flies when you're having fun! Well, I tend to agree, but I also think that time flies when you're too exhausted to know what day of the week it is! I can't believe that AJ will be 4 weeks old tomorrow! It seems like just yesterday that we were heading to the hospital to have her and now she is starting to smile on occasion and is getting so much better at holding her head up for longer periods of time! Crazy! Here are new pictures to enjoy!

The Easter Bunny!
