My photo
I'm a twenty-nine year old Army wife currently living near a large Army post. I have an unhealthy obsession with Dr. Pepper, the Internet, cloth diapers, and ridiculous TV shows. I'm a stay at home mom to two beautiful daughters, AJ and Amelia. We also have a 6 year old beagle named Abby who is as dumb as a box of rocks.

Blogging From My iPhone

We're in our new house! Unfortunately, we have no furniture and certainly no Internet connection. It is starting to look like we'll have Internet before furniture. The cable company is coming out tomorrow to set everything up and we still have no word from (and can't get ahold of) our movers. GRR!

Seriously. I could understand if we got here super fast or there were other shipments on our truck, but neither of those thongs happened. We have a 3 month old baby, we took a LONG time to drive the 2,700 miles. D also informed me yesterday that we are the only shipment on the truck. He was able to get ahold of someone in WA yesterday who told him that the truck was scheduled to be in Idaho last night. Is the truck actually a covered wagon?!? How does it take 6 days to drive from Washington to Idaho? It didn't even take us 6 days to do the entire trip!

Needless to say, I was starting to get a little bored (and broke) so I decided that I needed to find a way to distract myself. Hence, I downloaded the blogwriter app for my phone so I could update y'all on our fiasco. Oops, I meant, our "move."

On a positive note, I met and had lunch with a friend that I had only previoulsy known online! We had a great time and I forsee many more get-togethers in our future here!

That is all for now!

Mamarazzi Monday!

It's Mamarazzi Monday: Moving Edition.

AJ's standing on the table at lunch with her grandma! She's wearing the cutest hat in the world. Its an apple. It has a stem and a leaf on the top.

My Post From Yesterday

For some reason I wasn't able to post yesterday. There was something going on with blogger and I kept getting an error message. Here is the post I wrote:

When we travel we always have to stay at dog-friendly hotels so Abby can travel with us. D was on the elevator going down to the car to get dog food and a few other things we needed this evening. He was gone for quite a while, but we're on the 4th floor, so I didn't really think anything of it. I got the baby to sleep and was enjoying the Real Housewives of New Jersey when he busted into the room.

D: "I just watched a giant German Shepherd pee and poop...in the elevator!"

Me: "What did the owner do?"

D: "I don't really know, she shrugged and then the doors opened and I took off."

WHAT?!?!

She shrugged? I think a more appropriate reaction would have been to be super embarrassed or perhaps pick it up. Does anyone else find it wrong to travel with a dog that is clearly not house-trained? I would never bring Abby all the places I do if I thought she was going to do her "potty" in the building at all, much less right out in the open like that.

Seriously?!?

I Changed My URL

I just wanted to let everyone know that I changed the URL for my blog. My old address included my whole name and I didn't really want that out there for everyone to know. If you follow me I don't think you'll have any problems finding me, but if you have it bookmarked the old URL doesn't work! Just wanted to let you all know.

Hotel Bloopers

I had to jump on the computer this morning and tell you guys what happened to us last night.

AJ and I were laying in bed, I was watching TV and she was sleeping. D was updating his iPod on the computer when we hear a key slide into our door. We are traveling with my mom and sister, so we didn't really think anything of it. We just figured that one of us had given them a key to our room.

All of a sudden, our door swings open and a Canadian (I didn't see them, but could hear their eh's and oh's from my perch on the bed) couple starts apologizing profusely and our dog is running to the door, tail wagging like crazy! Our dog is less than protective of our family. She tends to be under the impression that a burglar should be invited in for a drink.

Anyways, D is super pissed less than pleased, so he tries to get the front desk on the phone to no avail. Still seething, he muttered something to me about the whole situation being "totally unacceptable" and stomped down the hall to the lobby. He was back 5 minutes later with a key that didn't work. He came in and grabbed both keys and stomped back to the lobby.

Meanwhile, the girl from the front desk calls the room (thanks for waking the sleeping baby) and tells me that she's going to give us a 20% discount on our room and that she is soooo sorry. She was really genuinely sorry and I could tell she felt so bad, so I was kind of okay with the way the whole situation turned out, being that she resolved it.

After all the commotion, I can't help but wonder if the Canadian couple ever found a room of their own!

Has this ever happened to any of you? If so, what did the hotel do to make it right?

Moving Update

We're officially on our way to our new duty station. We finished up with the movers yesterday and turned in our house keys and garage door openers this morning. After that we hit the road! We're done with the first leg of our drive and settled into our hotel.

We ended up staying the night in a hotel last night since we had no furniture at our house. It was kind of sentimental because it was the same hotel we stayed in a year ago when we first got to Washington. Last year we got in on 4th of July and we spent the night watching the fireworks and drinking beer on the roof! This year I have a 3 month old baby and fell into bed, exhausted! LOL Oh, how the times have changed.

AJ has been pretty good so far considering the fact that her schedule it totally off. She really only cried the last hour of the drive today, which for an 8 hour day is not bad. The scenery was beautiful, so I enjoyed the drive as well.

I'm hoping that tomorrow will be a little more eventful. We don't have as far to drive so we should be a bit more relaxed than we were today. We were really just trying to get as far out of town as we could today. I will make sure to do a full account of the trip (hopefully with lots of pictures) once we get settled in at our new house.

Still Alive...

Barely.

Got food poisoning on the way home from the wedding. Spent most of Sunday afternoon/evening sick (and on an airplane, with a baby...fun, fun).

Today was D's promotion to Captain. I've been crazy busy and will continue to be that way until we get to our new duty station next week. I'm not sure if I will have time to blog between now and then, but I hope to be on a few times. Hopefully I'll be able to post from our hotels along the way and possibly upload pictures from the wedding and the promotion tomorrow!

Packers come tomorrow and movers will be here Thursday! Eek!
